Hi, I’m Knox, a Licensed Massage Therapist, living and working in Knoxville, TN. Unlike most other bodywork professionals in our area, I no longer work out of a spa or salon. Instead, I prefer to work where I’m needed — my clients’ homes, offices or wherever is most convenient and comfortable.
I view massage as a fundamental element of holistic wellness. For some of my clients, the bodywork we do together is an integral part of their medical care or athletic training, while for others, it’s simply the most relaxing part of their week.
My massage style is Swedish-based, deep-tissue, and it’s heavily influenced by Chinese acupressure. My practice focuses on therapuetic goals, while retaining the simple pleasures of a damn good massage.
I also practice traditional Thai massage, which is increasing in popularity. Thai massage is an ancient practice combining passive, therapist- assisted yoga with tissue manipulation.
I don’t believe that finding time for a massage, or getting to a massage appointment at a certain time, at a location across town, should be inconvenient, or create its own stress.
People are busy today, and it’s often hard to find the time to schedule a massage during daytime hours, when work and family needs take precedence over our own. That’s why I’ve created a massage practice that truly focuses on my clients’ needs, including their need to have their schedules and locations accommodated.
“Knox is, without question, the most amazing, gifted massage therapist I’ve ever worked with. His ability to find the pressure points that I didn’t even know needed to be worked on and released has made a major difference in my overall sense of physical and emotional well being. Also, as a busy, working mother, it’s fantastic to have someone come to my house, on my schedule. THis has made it possible for me to make regular massages a priority in my life for the first time ever, despite my good intentions in the past. Knox is great. I can’t recommend him highly enough.” – Catherine
I come to you in order to do your bodywork. I bring my own, professional-grade, comfortable massage table – just as you would find in a spa or salon – as well as any other materials we may decide are appropriate and beneficial for your bodywork needs. Here are a few other things you might want to know about me, and my work:
I travel to most locations within 20 miles of downtown Knoxville (which is where I live)
I work on both men and women; I do not offer massage therapy for children or adolescents.
I prefer to do at least one full hour of massage per scheduled appointment, as this is the minimum time I feel that it takes to get the benefit of a massage. Some of my clients choose to schedule a 90 minute massage, and my traditional Thai massage sessions typically run two hours.
I charge $50 per hour, $75 for a 90 minute session, and $100 for a full, Thai session.
My Tennessee State Massage License Board # is MT 0000006742
I prefer to schedule sessions between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm on weekdays, and between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm on Saturdays. I don’t generally work on Sundays.
I am happy to provide references for my work from satisfied clients, whom you can call or email directly.
When I work in people’s homes, I find that they are most comfortable
using their own linens (sheets for the massage table, and a towel).
When coming to an office or other location where linens are not on
hand, let me know, so that I can provide fresh linens for our work
together.
I am generally available to schedule your massage with 24 hours’ notice, and I am sometimes available for same-day massage scheduling requests.
If you have any question that I’ve not answered here, just ask! I am a friendly, outgoing and communicative person, and I welcome conversations about my work, and about massage in general.
If you have never had a massage before, don’t be shy about telling me so that I can help you better understand what I do, how I do it, and what bodywork is all about. No question is too basic. I love talking with clients and potential clients about how massage can benefit them.

In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist, I am a happily married father of two, living with my family in one of Knoxville’s historic city neighborhoods. I am a committed, progressive Christian, and my faith is fundamental to who I am. However, my faith is not something I discuss directly with clients.
In my free time, I enjoy playing ukelele, working on my recently-acquired vintage motorcycle, cooking, camping, traveling, seeing live music, and spending time with my extended family and friends.
I love the work that I do, and consider it a privilege to contribute to the wellness of my clients. It’s great to have a job that makes people feel great. There aren’t many professions where that’s the case.
So be in touch, whether you are ready to schedule a massage with me, or you just want to ask some questions about how I work, and how I can work for you.
You can reach me at knoxmassage@gmail.com. I respond to all inquiries quickly, and via the mode you prefer, whether that’s by email or phone.
